“The Wooden Play Den was established in 2013 and is a family run business based in Newport. The business really is a family affair with my 2 children being my chief product testers, Isaac age 3 and Charlotte age 1. They do keep me really busy but it’s great fun!
“I love wooden toys, and started the business because I struggled to find toys that were different from the norm. I specialise in toys that are fun, unisex and aid development. Our aim is to make learning fun with wooden toys made to last, finding that special unique gift which engages children can be really tricky and we are here to help.
“I initially started selling toys at local fairs and events, and although I now sell mostly online, I still love going to events and talking to customers and seeing children enjoy the toys. The range caters for babies, toddlers and older children and I love to find something a little bit different.
“My favourite range of toys are the Alphabet and Number Puzzles which are hand-made and hand-painted. They come in a range of themes but I especially like the Camper Van Number puzzle. My little girl’s favourite toy at the moment is the Woodland Animal Shape Sorter. She loves putting the pieces in and carrying it around with the carry handle. She wants to take it everywhere!
“If you are looking for fun educational toys, or a special gift, I am positive that our range will provide both. We know many people keep special toys for years to come and our toys are made to last. We are happy to make recommendations, so if you are not sure what to choose why not contact us for advice!”
