Spend a day visiting this inspirational and beautiful place. Based in St Austell Cornwall, the Eden project was originally a disused clay mine that was developed and opened by an educational charity group in 2001.The aim of the project is to encourage visitors to appreciate nature and educate them in an inspiring way about the world around them and how to conserve it.
Featuring the two enormous biomes - one tropical and the other mediterranean - visitors are able to immerse themselves in the experience. Each dome consists of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal inflated plastic cells supported by steel frames, housing plant species from around the world. They are set within a lush landscape of varied plants, activities and sculptures offering a fantastic day out.
The Eden project is open 7 days per week, excluding Christmas day, it opens at 9am and closes between 3pm and 9pm - please see website for specific closing times. Admission ticket is valid for a year from booking, please arrive early at busy periods to ensure admission. There may occasionally be partial closures for special events - please check Eden project website for this information.
