Product Details

The perfect experience for anyone with a love for ponies and horses - Horse riding in the country.

Your day will start with a half hour to one hour lesson within the grounds of the riding school, during which your instructor will assess your abilities to plan your next activity.  Staff always appreciate an early arrival so you can get registered and help make sure the experience begins promptly and runs to time.

Next, you will continue with your lesson in the grounds or go out on a hack (including walk and trot) in the lovely countryside. You'll have three hours riding the hack, taking place before and after a typical stable hands lunch with everyone around the big table in the farmhouse. On your first visit, cantering is not allowed outside the arenas.  Riding time will be around three hours and lunch will last approximately two hours, with time to enjoy (and properly digest!) your meal before getting back into the saddle.  Pleae wear comfortable clothes (e.g. leggings, jodhpurs or track suit bottoms) with wellingtons or riding boots. Jeans, trainers and lace-up shoes are not recommended. You can wear your own hat (if it conforms to safety standards) or the venue can provide one.

Min age is seven. Maximum weight is 15 stone (venue reserve the right to weigh on the day). No riding experience necessary, this day is suitable for total beginners. The mount is matched with riders age, weight and any riding experience.  Groups normally average six people and the maximum size is eight.

Experience location - Reading and Berkshire - Riding may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather (e.g. heavy rain or snow) for your safety as well as that of your horse. If you have any concerns about the weather, please call the venue before leaving home.

Experience avaliability - At least one date per week throughout the year.

Please bring your booking confirmation with you on the day. Both the farmhouse or stables here offer bed and breakfast accommodation. Smoking is only permitted in dedicated areas. Spectators are welcome and can join you for lunch at a cost of £10 per person, payable on the day by cash or cheque only.

Your experience gift voucher will be dispatched in a red envelope or you may choose a red gift box for a small extra charge
